what's your filter?
| There are times in life that God is blatantly trying to teach you something. And when he does, you get hit hard in a lot of areas of life. This seems to be God's plan for me for the time being. Learning patience in a world that is frustratingly unchangeable. Something that keeps coming back to me when I get in these places and times that seem so ridiculously anger some is the phrase "what if they were Jesus?" It's a question that Pastor DeNeff highlighted on Sunday in church. Use Jesus as a filter to how you would treat those around you. Perhaps this is a pretty basic concept to some. But to me, not so much. It is easy to be nice to the cash register lady working at Wal*Mart, but when your roommate doesn't put her stuff in her closet after a week of being at school...Jesus is not the first thing I think of when I walk into my room. So, 'what if they were Jesus?' is a pretty significant idea once you think about it. That's what my next couple of weeks is going to be like. But, it's that whole refiners fire right? Just as Morphus beckoned to Neo in the 'Matrix', I say: bring it on. |
