for the love of the game

I am continually amazed by sports. The heart, the emotion, the drive, everything. The Little League World Series just ended after 8 inning of tough baseball. Japan vs. Georgia. Georgia's pitcher threw 10 straight Ks. Whoa! (that's strikes to you that are baseball illiterate) And then in the bottom of the 8th, this kid steps up to the plate and just hammers a home run over the right field fence. It is heartbreaking to watch the Japanese players get so upset over the loss. They have a right to. They played an incredible game of baseball as well. Watching those kids play baseball just makes life a little bit better. The thing I love about when kids play sports, is that they play for the love of the game. Not for fame or money, just go onto the field and play their beloved sport. There's something unadulterated and pure about it that I love.
