bittersweet end
| All this time my posts have been looking forward to the end of the year and starting summer. But, I just had one of the most amazing weeks at IWU ever. It wasn't filled with all that exciting stuff, just wonderful times with friends. Recently, our brother unit of Hodson 2 west has come around more, and we have been hanging with them a lot. I'm pretty sure we've hung out with at least one of our brothers once a day since last Saturday. They are quality guys and I am so glad that we have become friends with them. Sad that it had to happen a month before school was over. I don't want to say goodbye, and yet I do. Swaziland is less that 10 days away. Summer team starts 2 weeks after that. But, I am just going to miss everyone over summer. The girls on my floor are like my sisters. We fight and bicker but we have this bond that I have never experienced before. We would be there in an instant for one another. I wrote about my friend Therese's brother dieing last week. That is when I witnessed the unity of our unit. Within a half hour of this being found out there were 10 girls sitting in the hall crying with T as she grieved. Even though she left for home that night, we stayed together and just were close to each other. Next year, I leave them. I will move into a townhouse and they will stay in Evans. No, not the end of the world. But I will miss our late night ridiculousness, as I refer to it as. I will miss the times with the brothers who are always good for a laugh and would do anything for us. I love IWU. Yes, being here frustrates me sometimes, but I do love it and couldn't imagine going any where else. It's time for me to leave for a while. But it will make coming back all the more sweeter. |
