how do you see him?

Beds are great places for conversations. Well, at least where a lot of deep ones in my life have occurred. Today I sat on my friends bed and we talked about how we view God. I voiced my concern of how I see God as my heavenly father and friend rather than an Almighty God that is bigger than my mind can comprehend. Like others, there is a lack of reverent worship in my life. God is more than my buddy. He is my Savior. As basic of a principle as it is, my heart forgets the sacrifice on the cross. I forget the power of the cleansing blood and take his forgiveness for granted. There has been a lot of "yuck" lately. And when I refer to "yuck", I am talking about my sinful nature. Not taking his grace and forgiveness for granted is a lesson the Almighty is trying to teach his young daughter. Time to go back to the basics and find out who God is again. To read his word like a new baby in Christ. To have a faith of a child, without preconceived notions of who God is and just discover him in all his glory. Just a note to make you smile...I went for a bike ride today. About a mile and a half away from campus there is this nice little pond and as I passed it, there was a mother turtle with her two little turtles sunning themselves on a log. It made me smile big so maybe you might too. :D
