perfect

'Twas a perfect day. Yes, they are few and far between. And therefore, I am writing about it now.

I woke up around 7:15 to the sound of my cell phone going off as it usually does. As I stop the alarm and stuff it under my pillow, I wonder, 'should I really be getting out of bed today? I am rather tired and sleeping sounds just perfect.' But no, I slowly got out of bed and shuffled around my room getting ready for the day. The perfectness began when I peaked out my window blinds. A beautiful covering of snow lay over the IWU campus like frosting on a cake. And as I stepped out the side doors of Evans Hall and heard the crunch of snow under my feet, I knew that the day had much more in store.

My morning classes amuse me. Perhaps it's because Phys. Ed. majors have more fun, or maybe it's because I have class with jocks and we are a rather retarded bunch. Either way...it was good. We are reading Tuesdays with Morrie in my Personal Health class. If you have ever read it, you will know how captivating that book it. Coach Brooks reads to us the first part of class. I love reverting back to the elementary days of old having a teacher read to you. It's a soothing feeling. Jill and I ran to Wildcat to grab breakfast. And when I use the word 'ran' I mean literally, sprinted from the Rec Center to the Student Center. Quite a hazardous thing to do when there is snow and ice on the ground. Yet, I kept my feet and was able to grab a breakfast sandwhich and yogurt to eat in class. For those of you that do not go to IWU, I will tell you about Nancy. Oh, she is a wonderful woman that works Wildcat. She is possibly the funniest/ most loving person I have ever met. She makes your trip to Wildcat worth while with her smile.

Second half of the day. Let's see...workout, shower, study, didn't give blood (low iron-it's a bitter subject), and then the game. OH the game! IWU vs. Taylor University. Rivals. They were in our house. Decked out in my Wildcats tee and IWU sneakers, I took my place on the sidelines waiting for the game to begin. It was a good game at that. Jon Moon hit 6 3's in the first half alone! The kid is amazing. I'm pretty sure that Joel Tonagle added 5 more to that. Solid defense and the occasional heckling from the crowd makes the game fun. Coach put Ian and Tim in. Two guys that get very little playing time. I was happy for them.

Tonight, well tonight, that will have to wait. I will leave with you that God answered my prayer last night. It was a quick answer to prayer for once. And it was a good thing. Just like today.
