friendship that is true

Feeling as though I have been a little lax in the blogging department as of late...here I am, writing when there is still homework to be done. Don't worry. It's easy and will take me no more than 20 minutes so I can afford the time. The past few days have been a major blessing to me. God definately put a lot of things in my path that just made me remember his goodness and most importantly his friendship. Saturday evening, out of the blue, instead of sitting down to waste some more time on Facebook...I pulled out my Bible. Which, lately, has been a rare WORD NEEDED for me. But God, as he does so beautifully, took that time to reveal 3 major truths to me. 3 truths that I had been fed lies about for a long time. Forgiveness, trust, and peace. 3 different passages in the Bible all on the same day. Read October 6th if you have the Bible in a Year. Good stuff. So that in itself was huge. Monday night I had one of the best phone conversations I have had in a long time. Jess Stilson called me. Every time this girl and I talk, it amazes me how God puts people in your life that are right there with you walking the same path of ups and downs. We exchanged the whole 'hows life' and whatnot...but to spend over an hour talking about God and the things he has been doing in our lives just blows me away. And I am pretty sure had I not needed to get to bed and she had to study, we could have talked much longer. I am incredibly thankful for friendships like that. I could go on, but I won't. It's been said that shorter blogs are preferable. And this one is quite lengthy as is. I will leave you with one thought...don't go looking for things other places when they are already right there in front of you. That's a lesson I have been learning lately.
