| Summer is comming to a close. Discipleship Camp was this past couple of days. I have to be honest, I have been dreading yesterday all summer. Goodbyes are never fun, but I knew this one would be harder than before for some unknown reason. Perhaps because this summer has been amazing. Nothing really all that exciting has happened but, the simpleness of just hanging out, talking and laughing has meant more to me than anything else. Like last night. It was pretty much Lyncourt and me. Mr. Gilbert grilled and then the guys and me headed down to the lower field for some football throwing. See, nothing exciting, just fun. Oh, and then everyone migrated down for some Frisbee toss. It was going quite well until I was going for a Frisbee and Pastor Don tries running it down too. If you have never had that man run at you then you won't understand my fear. Stefan, Shane and Douglass were all trying to see who could have the nicest, fancyest catch. Well, I'm thinkin' the winner was Stefan. He had an awsome catch, hilarious acctually, but in the proess he broke himself. That's called sacrificing yourself for the game. But then I had my own meeting with the ground. I was going for the Frisbee that had been thrown to Samara but, well, I don't really know what happened. I slipped on the grass and my knees went down and then just fell backward. It was funnier than painful. But then, it was time for me to go. I packed up the car and said my goodbyes. Shane and Stefan decked out my car with shrubbery. Shane tried to stick an ear of corn in there, but I'm thinking it would stink up the place. Thanks for trying. I was going to leave @8. But, we just ended up talking for a while. It was more the fact that I was delaying the enevitable. Pulling out of Chambers was hard. Very hard. Never in my mind did I imagine it to be that hard. And the stupid thing is, last year was not as hard. So I don't know why. But, I just want to say thanks for a great summer. Really, thanks. |
