remember #12
| Funerals are never an easy thing to attend...but when it's one of your friends, a kid with so much potential and life to live...its really difficult. Duane had so much talent. He was a red shirt freshman on the East Stroudsburg football team. He was a leader in the sports he played in Sayre. Kid's looked up to him...admired him as a player and a person. I just can't believe he's gone. I went to school with him from 4th grade on. I had Spanish with him in 9th grade. He, Guinane and Bean gave me the nickname Foghorn Leghorn. He always had this big goofy grin on his face...he was a cocky guy but he was always there for his friends. I cried through the whole service. The East Stroudsburg football team came and individually hugged the Strupplers. That made me lose it. Mr. Shaw, Mr. Cessna, and Coach Jarvis spoke I cried. I cried for Mrs. Struppler, Alisha, and Mr. Struppler who were always at Duane's games cheering him on, with no care on how loud they were being. I cried for Trevor...who is laying in a hospital bed with the guilt of death of his best friend. Dan Guinane wore Duane's #12 football jersey...I think I would wear something of my best friend, the closeness would be comforting. I just...it's so hard knowing that he is gone. |
