Home...it will be a long 4 months till I see my beloved IWU again. It's kind of difficult to grasp that my freshman year of college is over. I mean, in 3 years I will graduate and go into a school and start teaching. YIKES!! That is a terrifying thought. But, let me just focus on the here and now.
I can't believe I won't see all of my friends for the longest time. And the hardest thing is...one friend won't be comming back next year. Elizabeth and I became very close this past year. She will be attending IUPUI (Indiana University/ Purdue University of Indianapolis) for nursing. Luckily, she only lives an hour away from campus and very close to many of my other WU friends. I will see her and her wonderful family again. That helps ease the pain of being separated with yet another friend. I wish you all could meet her. Her parents are becomming full time missionaries to Jamacia this summer. How cool is that? It was at her house that I had my first very close encounter with a tornado over Easter break. Even though her brother Ben managed to make the experience a very histerical event, it was still kind of terrifying.
This is Elizabeth (I call her El) showing our thuggish side after I showed her how to make knots in her shirt to add a little flare. Aren't we awsome? They live in Avon, IN. That is not pronounced as Avon in New York. It is Avon with a long vowel A. Can't tell you how many times I got corrected saying it like the Avon I know in New York. Sheesh...
Well summer is here...but tomorrow I start May term at Athens High School wearing my "profesional" sweatpants and polos. lol...IWU's education standards are kinda odd. :) |
