Sacrifice

Today in chapel Dr. Lenox was talking to us about Jesus's total sacrifice when he came to live on this earth and we need to give all that we have to him and others. Something that hit me really hard was a story he told about 2 men in Bangladesh were showing the Jesus film. They had been warned to stop but, they continued. And on July 28th...they were stabbed to death. This hit me so hard because July 28th is my birthday. While I was celebrating another year of wonderful life, halfway around the world 2 men died because they gave everything for Jesus. It just made me think about if I am giving my all to Christ. Are all parts of my life given to God? It's hard for me to think that 2 Godly men died on my birthday...a day of celebration for me was a day of mourning for 2 families that lost a father, a husband, a brother, a son. I am going to find out from Dr. Lenox who these men were. I don't want there scarifice to be forgotten. Honoring them is something that I want to make part of my birthday. Perhaps it will make me remember be willing to give all that I am to God for whatever purpose he has in my life.
