I LOVE TRACK!!!
| So, tonight was the first track meet of the season. It was against Northeast Bradford, Waverly, and Athens. (yah, Wheels, this was a lonnnnggg meet) Anyways...the weather, if you hadn't noticed, was perfect. It had to be 70 degrees with a comfortable breeze. So nice. So, as usual, the school district only provided us with buses that come 15 minutes late. We got there, did some warm up. Then the throwers and I head over to the throwing pit. Haley, you should have seen the Athens throwers. I'm sorry, but most are way pathetic. This one girl was in a Hollister t-shirt and jeans, sunglasses, ear rings, you name something you're not allowed to wear, she had it on. And, their technique was horrible. On with my story...we prayed before it started...gotta keep that tradition alive. Lisa did really awsome! She threw 22.3! I know, imagine my surprise. Then it's my turn. My heart was about to come up my throat. Seriously, you'll never guess how far it went...28.0! Where the heck did that come from. You're supposed to work up to it and beat everyone in the end. No, not me. Then I threw like 25 and 26. I was ticked...but then I remembered, I threw 28 so who cares? I did place 5th. I think maybe 2 NEB girls beat me. That one girl that took 2nd at NTL's last year, threw 31.2. She is so good. But now I know my competition. I missed Haley bad today. So werid throwing without ya! Then we got to throw disc. WOW...not so good. But I did PR with 58. 5 1/2 so thats not too bad. Hale...I really missed you today. I was thinking back to last NTL meet. When Kris messed up her ankle, and you ran the 4 x 1. I hope to God that doesn't happen this year...or else, there is no way I'm sprinting my way for 50 meters! |
